Key Focus Areas & Ongoing Initiatives

  • Master Plan Implementation: Actively enforcing the district’s newly gazetted Master Plan, ensuring that all new private and public developments strictly adhere to the designated spatial zones for agriculture, commerce, and housing.
  • Growth Point Expansion: Releasing and servicing new commercial and residential stands at Guruve Growth Point, Shinje, and Mudhindo to meet the rising demand from investors and residents.
  • Regularization of Unplanned Settlements: Identifying and regularizing informal or historic settlements. This initiative brings these areas into the official council framework, allowing for the future provision of piped water, roads, and sanitation.
  • Digital Land Management (GIS): Transitioning toward Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to digitally map the district. This modernizes record-keeping, making it easier to track stand ownership, lease statuses, and boundary lines accurately.
